Improvised Music from Japan

Mescaline Go-Go

Mescaline Go-Go was begun in 1996 by Haco and Christopher Stephens as an instrumental duo project. Since 1998, the unit's main focus has been improvisational performance using two guitars with open tunings. The unwinding chain of sounds created by the two teeters between resonance and noise, but never fails to be a pleasant listening experience. Pervading this performance style, which offers a view into the future of string acoustics, are flashes of great drive and off-kilter juxtapositions of rhythm.
