Runs balen disc and PhaseRubRec. His first album, the solo recording rut, was released on Magic Book Records. The U.S. edition of the same album was released on mOAR, a sub-label of and/OAR. In bands, and in solo performances under his real name and pseudonyms, Kaneko is engaged in improvisation and sound production using instruments and non-instrumental objects. He performs in Polyphonic Parachute, a duo with Takahisa Umehara, and in Niinu, a unit that produces sounds using tapes.
